The aim of the ‘Love Local’ programme is to promote Aberdeenshire to residents and visitors for shopping local, day trips and mini breaks.
The project will be targeted to local residents to encourage them to stay local when shopping, eating, or buying online and will upskill businesses to create, develop and maximise their online presence.
The first phase of this project which took place in 2021, was to undertake an audit across all towns and villages within Aberdeenshire. The intention was to establish a baseline understanding of the extent of digital marketing that was in place. The follow up stage involved the delivery of a training programme which would enable local businesses to benefit more from the ‘Love Local’ initiatives.
The project, which is part of the National, “Scotland Loves Local” initiative, is managed by Aberdeenshire Council and delivered by Station House Media Unit [shmu].
The project will continue into 2022 and it is anticipated that the momentum will increase from early February and run through until Easter.
If you would like further information on the project and how it can assist your business please get in touch using the form below.
Stage 1 of the project involved a survey of local businesses and business associations and BID teams etc.
The responses to the survey enabled an action plan to be developed which covered a number of proposed elements.
In addition, it is intended to liaise closely with Business Gateway and local marketing and digital providers with a view to providing ongoing support to businesses. In order to ensure local support and ongoing sustainability of the initiative it is intended to establish some local ‘digital ambassadors’.
The detail of the training and seminar programme [webinars] is set out on separate pages of this website (accessed via the ‘Training Programme’ tab in the menu above).
